I spoke my truth. I shouted my truth. it was not enough.
it is never going to be enough.
Survivors come forth, we speak our truth and its not enough. The vile creatures who hurt us get to walk away and continue living their lives. Continue living like they never hurt us in the first pace, they move on, they forget.
Meanwhile us, the victims have to become warriors daily just to fight the demons living in our heads. Its like a prison. A personal hell.
Waking up in the night, fighting to catch my breath, covered in sweat, worried about the threat, the threat has passed but in my head I'm right back there on that dirty blue sheet, the small dusky room crying, telling him to stop, telling him it hurts. he doesn't care, he wants what he wants. he didn't want my consent. I did not give my consent.
I don't feel safe. I'm not ok. Nobody cares, everybody is living their life, moving on the world is going past, the world keeps spinning. whilst I'm stuck on that day and not being able to move on.
